Introducing two new products: Timberfill and Havelock Wool

As you may know, we pride ourselves on using only all-natural insulation such as cellulose in our customers’ homes and businesses, as it is better for the health of your family, your living space and the environment.
We have now added two new all-natural products to our insulation offerings! In addition to cellulose, our product line-up now includes Timberfill and Havelock Wool. All of our products are not only sustainable but also high-performing.

All about Timberfill

Timberfill is pure softwood chips leftover from sustainable Maine forest management and lumber production that is milled into strong, soft fibers. Like cellulose insulation (which is made of newspaper and cardboard), Timberfill is a clean product treated with borate to protect against fire, mold, insects and rodents. It’s an insulation option that is not only good for the environment but also proven to regulate building temperatures and humidity in even the toughest climates.

What is Havelock Wool?

Havelock Wool is made of the best wool fibers sheared from a specific breed of sheep best suited for insulation. The Havelok Wool batts are a uniform, long-lasting product that naturally filters the air and improves air quality – there is no toxic off-gassing like with traditional insulation products. Wool absorbs moisture and absorbs against 65% relative humidity, providing natural climate control. The natural keratin it contains prevents the spread of mold and mildew. Wool also absorbs sound, exceeding other forms of insulation as an acoustic buffer. Like cellulose insulation, it resists fire.

The performance benefits of natural insulation products

Because of their natural characteristics, our products are long-lasting and allow R-values that compete with or exceed other forms of insulation.
If you are looking for information on healthier alternatives to traditional insulation products, we are happy to talk to you about our three product options and recommend the one that would work best for your home. Even though we have fewer cold days ahead, they will soon be followed by the heat of summer. You can get ahead of today’s energy costs by the time AC season rolls around! By installing insulation today, you can be more comfortable and saving money in a matter of days!

Hot Tip:

Formaldehyde is a chemical that is often found in homes, particularly in certain types of insulation, and it poses a serious health risk. If you have an older home or old insulation, have it checked for the presence of this chemical.
